Our Mission
The Single Parent Association of Newfoundland and Labrador was founded in 1987. Our objective is to provide supports for single parents, enabling them to regain control over their lives for the empowerment of themselves and their children.
We recognize the ever increasing demands and pressures on single parents and offer a variety of programs and services. If you would like to get involved and help support single parent families;

SPANL Food Bank
SPANL operates a food bank that provides single parent families with a food hamper every month.
Margaret's Closet
Margaret’s Closet helps single parents find appropriate clothes for an upcoming interview or starting a new job. If a single parent currently has a job and needs appropriate work clothes they can avail of Margaret’s closet as well.
Single Parent Employment Support Program
SESP is a program specifically designed to assist single parents across the province who need help getting started on their return to the workforce. SESP has successfully enabled over 1900 single parents to obtain employment!
